Steve DeTurk loves to photograph nature, but he doesn't stop
with simply trying to capture the best image. DeTurk's goal is create art by
having a little 'fun' with it. The result is digitally manipulated images that
meld into art. There's nothing abstract about the result - the original subject
remains in tact. It's just had a few "what ifs" applied to it.
At age eight, DeTurk grabbed a camera and has
yet to let go. By the age of twelve, he was doing his own darkroom work. DeTurk
graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS degree in
Photographic Sciences and Industrial Business Management. During this time, he
developed a keen interest in the outdoors and in wildlife of all kinds, which
now serve as the themes of his works.
